Meet Baby Girl - a 9 year old, Terrier mix, who weighs 44 pounds (as of 5/26/25). Baby Girl was found in an abandoned trailer with her BFF, Nova Spark. It seems these girls were left behind when their family moved away. Their neighbors kept an eye on them and have been feeding them for 6 months in hopes that their family would return.
Her foster mom shares "If you're looking for a calm, sweet companion, Baby Girl is the right girl for you! In spite of the sad way she came to us, you can tell she was well loved, and she's an all-around super dog. Baby Girl is very pretty and gets admired everywhere she goes. But this gal is more than just fabulous looks – she really is the full package!!
She loves people of all sizes and goes right up to introduce herself. She gives gentle kisses to her favorites. If you are lucky, you will be one of them. She gets along with all other dogs and befriends them instantly. One of her favorite activities is playing chase. She does great at the dog park and has a surprising amount of energy. She has not yet met a pup or human she doesn’t like. But cats are another story – she does have an interest in chasing so we would suggest a cat free home.
She also has wonderful house manners! She is very calm in the house and doesn't need to be crated. In fact, she does better not being crated, even when home alone. She is fully housebroken, knows "sit," and we are working on recall with her. We have a feeling she may know other commands too that will become apparent over time. She sleeps nicely in a dog bed in her foster's bedroom and can go all night without having to go outside. She sometimes goes back to bed after breakfast!
Outside the home she loves to go on adventures and is curious about everything. As expected, she doesn't need a ton of exercise. About 30 minutes twice a day is perfect. She is great on leash and just needs reminding about the niceties (like not walking on the other side of a pole from her person – ha). A collar is sufficient, but a harness may be good because she does get excited when she sees a rabbit or squirrel.
Her ideal home would be with someone who was around a lot as she loves people. And another dog to keep her company would be her choice too we think. Her foster has been working with her on transitions and being left alone, and she's improving. The resident dog's company helps.
She has super cute personality quirks! She does a "sway dance" when you're scratching her back, and she carries around small toys like they're treasures. She grins with joy when she sees her favorite people. She gets up on the couch and worms her way behind you so she can be as close to you as possible and then takes over your spot when you get up. This girl really is the best – and we can’t wait to meet the family that gets to be lucky enough to be her forever family!
Medical Notes: Baby Girl does have some allergies but those are easily managed with chicken-free food and regular baths. The vet reports that her teeth are in pretty good shape for her age but several are significantly worn down.
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
