Meet Lily - a 1.5 year old, English Pointer / Dalmatian mix, who weighs 40 pounds (as of 5/27/25). Miss Lily was found as a stray with her buddy, Scout. She's happy, healthy and looking for her forever home!

Lily is a sweet girl! She isn't very high energy but wants to be your best friend and stay by your side. She will play with a few toys and enjoys a game of tug of war every now and then but she is perfectly content doing nothing and lying right beside you. She also loves getting cuddles and all of the love you can possibly give. Lily is good with other dogs, too. She can be a little timid when first meeting people, but once she feels safe, she warms right up! Lily has learned a few basic commands (sit, stay) and walks on her leash really well. She also really enjoys her car rides and has learned to potty outside. She is learning to enjoy life's finer things - like a warm & cozy bed, and having a human to love. She would be fine being your only companion or would be happy to have a lower energy dog to be her resident BFF. Lily would really like to have time with someone who can give her all the love she deserves!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
