The AURORA litter lights up every room like the Northern Lights! These pups are sure to make each day more magical and are sure to make every moment shine..

One of the Aurora litter from rural Tennessee, Archer is a sweet Aussie Cattle Dog mix who at 10 months old is so ready for his forever home. He currently weighs 40 lbs as of 5/14/25. He is being fostered in MA with a dog trainer who is offering his adoptive family two free training sessions along with discounts on further training and boarding. He’s a willing and joyful dog when he feels safe, and his training work is helping him learn to feel safe in new environments and around scary things (…like the UPS truck).

This lovebug adores toys, tug of war, and exploring nature. He is food-motivated and
eager to please, which makes him fun to train. He's quite smart and needs mental engagement in addition to exercise to be his best self. He’s a dream on trails and has great leash manners. He prefers a safe area with his "place" to being in a crate, wants to be with you but is calm and non-destructive when left alone, and is house-broken.

Archer will flourish with consistent work and enrichment. He has demonstrated some resource guarding towards other dogs inside the house and has a high prey drive in keeping with his breed mix, so we think he would do best as the only resident pet. He would love playdates and doggy day care though! He requires slow introductions to men and isn’t recommended for a home with small children (unpredictable behavior can bring out his herding instincts).

This gorgeous boy wants to be your heart dog. His ideal home will have a backyard and include a commitment to regular training and tummy rubs. Apply today and prepare to fall in love!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
