Meet Gundi
My adoption fee will be waived from June 23 – 29 as part of the AMERICA RUNS ON DOGGOS SUMMER RUFF-FRESHER EVENT !!!
Gundi is a beagle from the Envigo beagle case.
In this case, Gundi was housed in a situation in which the dogs were not kept in a home setting and may not have been walked on a leash at any time in their lives. They also have not been set up to learn house training skills and thus may not yet know to go to the bathroom outside. Due to the circumstances this dog came from, there are other things that may be a struggle initially, that may include sounds in the home like a TV, walking through doorways and other scenarios that are more typical to dogs that were raised in a more traditional environment.
All of these challenges are likely to be able to be overcome in first weeks to months in the new home. Gundi will likely thrive with proper socialization, training, a little patience and love!
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Gundi. We have open adoption hours Mon- Wed 11:30am-5pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-6pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
