Imagine a cup of hot cocoa that licks your face and asks for belly rubs…Hideaway is that, but with better hair. With the most melt-your-heart eyes in canine history, this chocolatey chihuahua is 100 percent adorable and 200 percent ready to steal your couch and your affections. She loves to be pet, and she’s an expert in the fine art of cuddling, often practicing her craft with the dedication of a Michelin-star chef layering tiramisu. If you think chocolate in general is hard to resist, wait until she rests her head on your lap with that “choose me forever” gaze. She gets along with other dogs like a true socialite and has a personality that’s more comforting than your favorite blanket and just as easy to get emotionally attached to. Between her charm, her cuddly instincts, and her undeniable glow, Hideaway is the sweetest escape you never knew you needed. Here’s some notes from her foster:Hideaway was really good on the ride home. She hopped right into my car and I distracted her with some treats while I buckled her into the seatbelt in the front seat. It’s about a 20 minute ride and she is settled down after a few treats and was pretty settled on the ride home. She’s really food motivated so that helped a lot. She got out of the car in my neighborhood and loved sniffing around. We went on a nice long walk before going into the apartment and she was really sweet. I haven’t heard her bark once since she arrived. She was really really hungry. She kept eating and eating I gave her a lot of treats and more than a full portion of food at dinner and then later another dinner. She slept great her first night, after she snuggled up in the blankets. She was trying to sleep on me, but then I realized she was cold so I was able cover her up in blankets. We got up early and immediately went to her food bowl. We went on a short walk and everything seems normal with her potty habits. At home, she’s the perfect mix of snuggly and self-sufficient—she’ll happily curl up under your covers or at your feet at night, and she does just fine being left alone without any problems. She snuggled up to me on the couch and was giving me her belly for belly rubs within a few hours! She’s been really responsive to training. She listens well and responds well when I tell her no. Although that hasn’t been very often because she’s allowed on all the furniture and everywhere she wants to be in my apartment. Overall she is doing great! If you’re looking for a strong, independent girl who will shower you with love, companionship, and plenty of snuggles, Hideaway might just be your new best friend!
