This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Wrapped in fur, and filled with love - she's our favorite kind of DUMPLING!

Meet Dumpling - a 2-3 year old, Lab / American Bulldog mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 8/12/25). Dumpling is a momma dog who was found as a stray. Once she weaned her pups, it was her turn to be in the spotlight. She's happy & healthy and ready to find her forever family!

Her foster shares: "Dumpling is an adorable girl with the cutest wiggle butt you've ever seen! She has so much joy in her heart and is looking for her forever family. This girl LOVES attention and will lean into you for all the snuggles, scratches and rubs. She is amazing with everyone she meets and breaks into the sweetest smile which you can't resist. Since we found her as a stray momma, she has been able to learn what it means to be a dog in our care -- she has learned how much
fun toys are, that treats are the best, and that cuddles are for everyone. Dumpling is wonderful with children and would do great in a fur-ever home with kids. She is great with every dog she has met and is very social and playful with her four legged friends. Dumpling has a few scars on her (we are not sure exactly from what), but we think it gives her some character to go with her sweet smile, loving personality and adorable wiggles.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
