Meet Leo
Meet Leo, a sweet but sensitive young pup who’s looking for a patient, understanding family ready to give him the time and space he needs to thrive. Leo may be a bit avoidant and grumbly when meeting new people, but once he’s comfortable, he becomes a total goofball—bouncy, silly, and full of energy! He loves toys, a good splash in the kiddie pool, and leaning in for pets when he feels safe. Leo is still navigating some fear and anxiety from past experiences, and he’s sensitive to changes in his environment. Big gatherings or busy places are just too much for him right now. With a careful, slow reintroduction to the world, Leo will need a family who’s committed to going at his pace—gradually introducing new people, places, and experiences while always respecting his boundaries. Patience, gentle handling, and a focus on petting consent are key to building a positive relationship with Leo.
If you think Leo could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
