The FIESTA litter is sure to be the life of the paw-ty!
Meet Churro Fiesta - an almost 12 week old, Collie / Lab mix from Tennessee, who weighs approx. 16 pounds (as of 9/4/25).
His Foster shares: Churro is doing great. His confidence took a bit of a hit once his sister got adopted but he is adjusting accordingly. He may benefit from having a dog sibling to live with.
Churro is a sweet and adventurous puppy. His curiosity makes him great to walk on leash, but it also causes him to get his head peed on with unfortunate frequency.
House training is a work in progress, but when you take him out he pees immediately every time. He goes right in his crate at night and as long as he is in the room with you, he will sleep 5-6 hours before he needs to go to the bathroom.
He loves the water. Ocean, lake wading pool and dog dish, I've seen him jump paws 1st in all four.
He is great on car rides and will just lay down in the back. He is starting to connect them to fun adventures and has started to try to climb in on his own.
He loves toys and is food motivated. He knows SIT and is about 80? accurate with his COME HERE. We are working on LAY DOWN.
He likes my dog and any encounter where the dog ignores him so he can approach at his own speed. Exuberant and overly interested dogs still give him pause. He has met a bunch of the neighborhood kids and seems to do well with all ages (3?15)
All in all Churro is doing great especially given his young age.
Churro is a lovable little guy with a heart full of joy and a nose for adventure. He’s confident, curious, and always ready to explore the world around him. Whether he’s making new friends, playing with toys, or soaking up snuggles, Churro brings fun and affection wherever he goes.
He’s happy, healthy, and has a big personality packed into a small, adorable package. With his sweet nature and playful energy, Churro is sure to be the life of the party—and the perfect addition to your family.
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
