This girl is ready to flutter her way into your heart!

Meet Bella Butterfly - a 6 year old, Papillon mix, who weighs 20 pounds (as of 8/26/25). She was surrendered to us in Mississippi by a family who could no longer care for her. This sweet girl is ready to find a new family to call her own!

Her foster shares: "Bella Butterfly is a loving, mellow and sweet dog. She is happiest when she's curled up in your lap or next to you while you read or watch TV. She loves exploring outdoors for short periods of time and then quickly coming home for a snack or treat. When she's outside, her curiosity shines as she sniffs around the garden - occasionally chasing after a butterfly, or two! After her adventures, she trots back inside with her tail wagging from the excitement. She loves her squeaky toys and belly rubs. Her gentle demeanor makes her a favorite among family and friends. She is very friendly and warms up quickly to anyone who shares a kind word or offers her a treat! Bella Butterfly's presence brings a comforting warmth to the home and will remind you about the simple joys in life."

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
