Meet Miley Mittens - a Black Lab/Beagle mix gal who was found as a stray in Tennessee with her sister Katie Mittens. At the time of posting on 9/12/25 she is 9 months old and 30 pounds.
Her foster mom shares "Miley is a remarkably gentle, calm puppy. I can’t say enough about how sweet and special she is. And I don’t say that lightly. She’s great with people of all ages, easy going, and amazing with cats and other dogs. She is very petite with those adorable little legs, and about 30 pounds we think she is almost fully grown. She and her sister seem intuitive about what we expect of them, I guess they are just smart. She is so calm meeting strangers but is always happy to meet new friends. She is so so cute, and so special. Black dogs tend to be the last to be adopted…..but let’s change her luck and find her the best home first! She really is a gem!"
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
