Meet Sandy Winona, a delightful German Shepherd mix gal from Mississippi.

At the time of posting she is 18 months old and weighs approximately 40-45 pounds.

When we first found her, she was just 30 pounds, but now she’s thriving with a gorgeous coat and a playful spirit! Sandy is all about fun and companionship. She loves playing with toys and even has a little playful chatter during her adventures. Her gentle nature makes her a friend to everyone—whether it’s
humans or other dogs. She’s not food aggressive, doesn’t have a dominant streak, and is mostly quiet, only barking occasionally.

With a wagging tail that seems to be in constant motion, Sandy is always ready to cuddle and be by your side. She’s great at making eye contact and responds well when called, showing that she’s both house trained and eager to please.
While she hasn't had kid experience here we can't imagine she wouldn't be wonderful with humans of all ages!!

Sandy is the perfect medium-sized companion who brings nothing but love and joy into your life. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing dog who just wants to be part of the family, Sandy Winona is your girl!

Sandy Winona was treated for heartworm in rescue. There is nothing remaining to complete her treatment. She will only need heart worm prevention monthly - just as any other dog would as well.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Sandy Winona, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
