She's a little bit country and a whole lotta cute!
Meet Dolly Parton - a 1 year old, Dutch Shepherd mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 10/8/25).
This charming Dutch Shepherd is ready to steal your heart! Dolly Parton is a sweet girl who’s looking for her forever home with loving humans to call her own.
While she’s never been on a leash before, her eagerness to explore will make leash training a fun adventure.
Dolly is great with other dogs and shows her gentle nature by humbling herself around them, letting them know she’s sweet and friendly. She’s also fabulous with children, making her the perfect family
companion. Just a heads up—she’s tall and loves to reach for things, so be prepared to move anything you don’t want her to get into!
Her favorite pastime? Chew toys! Dolly adores them and will happily entertain herself with a good chew. Ultimately, all she wants is to form a special bond with someone who will love her as much as she loves them.
If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion, Dolly Parton is ready to bring joy and warmth into your life. Will you be the one to give her the home she’s been dreaming of?
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
