Meet Journey - This golden girl is an 8 year old, Lab mix, who weighs 69 pounds (as of 10/10/25). Journey was previously living with her loving owner who she has been with *almost* her whole life. Unfortunately, Journey's mom is no longer able to care for her due to her own declining health and hopes to find a family who can show Journey all the love and affection that she deserves!

Journey is looking for a home where she can spend most of her time being a couch potato with her humans. She loves walks (particularly on the beach) and she gets the zoomies from time to time (don't let her age fool you!). She loves other dogs when she is outside and there is no food around but would prefer a dog-free home. She spent time with her previous owner's grandchildren (ages 1-17) and she was fine with them too, although she prefers the peace and quiet when the kiddos leave. She is loving and very smart and knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay" like a champion. She is relaxed and happy in the car and will gladly join you as your co-pilot on an adventure. This girl is a wonderful dog and a loving companion who hopes to find a family who is able to spend time with her outdoors and occasionally bring her for a romp in the water!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
