The SPLASH puppies are making waves and stealing hearts!

Meet Carla Splash and her siblings! They are a group of 19 week old, Shepherd mix pups. Carla Splash weighed 31 pounds (as of 10/2/25). Their momma was a Shepherd and these babies were surrendered to us in Tennessee as they were an unwanted litter.

Darla, Carla and Max are all lovable and sweet babies! They can be a little shy initially but warm up quickly and love human affection.

Since their momma was a Shepherd, we're thinking they will be on the larger side once they are fully grown.

Meet Carla: A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Home

Carla is a wonderfully sweet and affectionate dog who’s ready to find a family that will give her the time and patience she deserves. While she may be a bit shy when you first meet her, don’t let that fool you—once Carla gets to know you, her loving personality truly shines through. With each passing day, she becomes more confident and playful, rewarding your patience with genuine affection and trust.

This gentle girl is making excellent progress with her potty training and is proving to be a quick learner. Her timid nature is fading more and more each day as she discovers that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. While she could benefit from a little extra leash training, she’s eager to please and responds well to gentle guidance and encouragement.

Carla would thrive in a home with another confident, friendly dog who can serve as her mentor and help show her the ropes. She gets along beautifully with the other dogs in her current foster home and has mastered the art of peacefully coexisting with cats—she’s perfectly content to let them do their own thing.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will blossom with love and patience, Carla might be your perfect match. She’s ready to repay your kindness with endless affection and the kind of devoted companionship that only a rescue dog can provide. Are you ready to help Carla write the next chapter of her story?

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
