He's house-trained and while he is a little clumsy, he's agile and licks people and did very well in a large crowd in his foster home. He was timid for a minute and once he realized everyone was friendly, he worked the crowd for pets and attention. He does very well in the car and on leash, but he has a little fright of getting into a car. He always has to be lifted in because he won't jump into the car himself, although he physically could. He'd be very patient with kids as he deals with cranky foster siblings and loves to play wrestle with a much smaller terrier. He sort of thinks he's a lap dog and curls up in bed and on the couch into as small a ball as possible, despite his larger size than the other small dogs around him, but he doesn't expect to be the only affectionate dog. He's also fine curling up on a chair across the room or above people's on the back of the couch so he can lick them from there, where no other dog dares to perch. He's definitely food-motivated and will steal food or chew up napkins left unattended, but he can't quite reach up to the kitchen counter, thankfully. He also knows to keep his distance when other dogs are feeding, which is a nice trait. He can be somewhat protective of chew toys, but never seriously aggressive with other dogs.
