Meet Dasher...possibly the world's cutest puppy! Dasher is a tiny 8-lb Terrier-Maltese mix puppy who arrived just before Christmas. Now thriving in foster care, Dasher lives life with his tail up, confidence on full display, and a playful sparkle in his eye. He's social, interested in the world, and never misses an opportunity to make himself known. In his foster home, Dasher plays happily with the resident dog and even the cats. He's a smart little guy: working hard on house training (excellent progress!), learning basic commands like sit, and settling nicely in his kennel when it's time for a break. He is neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. What we love about Dasher: affectionate and people-oriented, joyful puppy energy, confident in new places, clever and eager to learn, small dog with a big personality.Handling and best fit info (please read!) Notes from foster: Dasher is not what we'd call a "green" or beginner puppy. While incredibly loving, he can become defensive if touched or handled around his face or neck (for example when clipping a collar). In these moments he may growl or snap in all directions. This isn't fear of people so much as "big feelings, small body" communication. For this reason, Dasher's ideal home will have adults or teens who can follow guidance about handling, understand that puppies need training and boundaries, and appreciate a spirited, confident dog rather than expect a soft, compliant "lap baby."He's actually done very well meeting kids and enjoys their company, so we don't worry about visiting children. The concern is unsupervised young kids who might reach for his face or neck without warning.Dog and cat matching notes: Dasher enjoys other animals but brings a bold personality to the table. He loves playing with tolerant, social dogs and does not readily back down if another dog takes offense, so gentle or easygoing canine companions are the best match. With cats, he coexists well with confident, active young cats who don't mind his playful tackling and nips. A frail, shy, or elderly cat would not appreciate his enthusiasm. If you're looking for a small companion with oversized charisma, a silly sense of confidence, and a whole lot of heart, Dasher may be your perfect match. He's ready to be someone's loyal adventure buddy and cherished little character. Primary Color: White Weight: 6 Age: 0yrs 4mths 3wks
