Meet Kia Momma - a 2 year old, Husky mix, who weighs 40 pounds (as of 3/10/25). Don’t let her sweet face fool you- Kia Momma is a survivor and one tough cookie! She gave birth in a crate during her transport to Massachusetts from her southern rescue. Kia was a devoted and loving mama to her babies while in our care, and let them nurse well into teeth-territory (when other mamas often close down the milk bar). This multi-colored eye beauty is a sweet and submissive Husky mix who is ready for her turn to shine!
Her foster shares: "During her time in our home, Kia has been very low maintenance. While she would prefer to snuggle or hang out with her favorite human all day, she quickly learned the routine of when she had to take care of her babies, and she would patiently settle on her bed. She walks nicely on a leash, and is mostly house trained when on a regular potty schedule (those mama hormones can be hard), and she did not show any chewing or destructive tendencies when left alone. After fostering many nursery mamas, Kia is one I could imagine keeping. She’s an overall dream dog!
She loves gathering her stuffies, is very gentle when taking her treats, and she loves being part of the action. She lived with other dogs in her southern foster as well as in a temporary foster in MA for just over a week. With a proper introductions, she would be great living with calm dogs. Squirrels and bunnies pique her interest so we'd recommend a cat free home. Since she is part-Husky, we'd also recommend a fenced in yard to help keep her safe.
Kia’s ideal adopter will be patient as she adjusts to her new home and new role without her babies, willing to give all the snuggles she wants and deserves, home more often than not, and committed to any positive-rewards based training if any behavior issues arise with her transition. Welcoming Kia Momma into your home would be like wining the adoption lottery. Who is all in?"
Medical Disclaimer: Kia Momma is Heartworm positive and will need to go through HW treatment once she is away from her pups and her milk has dried up. She will be treated by Andover Animal Hospital.
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
