Meet Charlie Girl - an 8 year old (turning 9 YO on 7/17), Lab mix, who weighs about 50 pounds (as of 3/24/25). Due to unforeseen circumstances, Charlie Girl's previous owner had to surrender her in hopes of finding a new family who can give her all of the love and attention she needs.
Charlie Girl is the sweetest and she loves to be loved! We think this gal would be better as the only dog in the home (or she would be fine with smaller dogs). She loves having all the attention on her and being a pretty little princess. She is 100% potty trained, crate trained and listens well. She knows her common commands like 'sit', 'stay', 'down' etc. Charlie Girl spent her whole life living in a big house and having a nice big fenced in yard, so we'd love to find a new home that would be able to off her that same freedom. The ideal home for Charlie would be a quiet home, not too much traffic in and out, and no cats. She is great with kids.
Charlie Girl will give you all the unconditional love she has to give. She loves to love and loves to be loved. She prefers to sleep under the blankets in bed with you at night or on her own in a dog bed or on the couch. We know there is a loving family out there who will welcome this sweet girl with open arms (and a soft blanket)!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
