This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet the HODGE PODGE litter! These pups are a little mix of mischief and magic. Every pup is a sweet surprise!

These adorable pups (BJ, Cinderella, Leesa, Shakes, Cowboy and Sassy) were born on 2/3/24. We think they are Hound / Boxer mixes - but your guess is as good as ours!

Looking for a big, goofy, lovable companion? Meet Shakes! This sweet guy is a whole lot of love wrapped in a 73-lb puppy body. Born in February 2024, Shakes is playful, cuddly, and always ready for fun—or a good belly rub.

He enjoys romping around the yard, wrestling with his foster dog friends, and sprinting through zoomie sessions. But he’s also happy to flop down at your feet (or on your lap if you let him) and soak up all the affection. Shakes loves stuffed toys—though they tend to “mysteriously” explode in his presence. His future family will get a list of the sturdy favorites we’ve discovered!

Shakes gets along great with other dogs, but because of his size and enthusiasm, his play with small dogs is monitored closely. He adores people, and would do best in a home with older kids who can handle his excitement and occasional clumsiness. He hasn’t met cats up close, but he has seen them through a baby gate without much reaction.

He’s crate trained, house trained, and still working on his leash manners—nothing a little patience and continued practice won’t fix. He’s incredibly eager to please and loves food, so training is both fun and rewarding for him.

Shakes would thrive with a semi-active family who wants a goofy sidekick for walks, playtime, and snuggles—and who’s excited to help shape him into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. He’d be equally happy joining in on weekend adventures as he would be curling up on the couch for a movie night, especially if you’re willing to share a little popcorn ?.

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
