Meet Coral, a gentle soul with a heart full of potential. This shy, sensitive girl has lived a sheltered life and is just beginning to explore the world around her. New experiences can be overwhelming for Coral, and she is still learning how to feel safe in unfamiliar surroundings. She is not ready for cuddles or physical affection from humans just yet, and thats okay what she truly needs is time, space, and a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and cant be rushed.
What Coral does love, though, is the company of other dogs. She truly comes to life around canine companions, especially those who are calm, confident, and kind. A dog-savvy home with a steady, well-adjusted dog could help show Coral the ropes and give her the reassurance she craves. Coral is looking for a peaceful, predictable environment where she can take her time getting comfortable and be celebrated for the quiet victories along the way.

Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Coral. We have open adoption hours Mon- Wed 11:30am-5pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-6pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
