Meet Foxy Annie - a 2 year old, Heeler/Corgi mix, who weighs 45 pounds (as of 12/13/24).

Foxy Annie is very sweet and loves being your side kick! She is incredibly smart and picks up on things very quickly. She already knows sit, heel, down and paw. She's an active dog, who enjoys exercise and learning new things. We are guessing she has some working stock dog breeds in her.

When meeting other dogs, she prefers her friends to be less energetic and have good manners. She enjoys playing but may need breaks if things start to get too rough or out of control. Those herding instincts start to kick in and she might become the "fun police". Hyper dogs can make her nervous at first, but after proper introductions she has done fine and wants to run and play.

She should be in a cat free home as she is a bit too interested in them. She likes kids but we recommend kids 10+ or breed savvy kids as quick darting movements can initiate her desire to herd!

Foxy Annie wears a harness for walks, and walks incredibly well on leash! She rides really well in the car, so it will be easy to take her on adventures. Once she is tired she is happy to take a nap or sleep through the night in her crate.

We'd recommend an experienced dog owner who understands that dogs of her breed and intelligence need lots of exercise and stimulation to be their best self. This girl loves human attention and is just looking for the right family to love her and let her be right by their side!

She’s friendly meeting new people and is ready to show off her tricks and attentiveness to any captive audience!

From her southern foster: "Foxy Annie is a very sweet and very smart gal! In my opinion she has a lot of working dog in her, Heeler and or Corgi of some mix. She loves to learn and be engaged in daily activity. She needs to have a dog savvy family who will be considerate of her feelings while also being a confident leader. She wants to please you. She will thrive in an active home with a family who is used to herding breed dogs. She is one smart cookie! I would love to see someone take her to an agility class I bet she would love it!"

If you are looking for a fun, engaged, smart and eager to please dog, please fill out an adoption application for Foxy Annie today!

Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
