This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Stella - an almost 2 1/2 year old, 50 pound, Boxer/Shepherd mix gal. Stella was found as a stray in Mississippi. How has this gorgeous girl been looking for her forever family for a year and a half now?

Her foster says "Stella has a high spirit and playful nature. This gal needs an active home that can meet her activity level! She is a cuddler and enjoys the couch but she loves to be outside and playing! Stella has so much potential in the right family and with a little more training. She meets people well and loves kids - though we suggest older kids due to her energy level. She is doing well learning all her leash and crate skills, and seems to understand that bathroom is an outside activity. Stella's hair is as smooth as butter! People and dogs make her the happiest and she gives away free smooches everyday!"

Stella came into rescue with a case of demodex mange but her hair has grown back so well and is fully manageable with Nexguard preventions.

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
