This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Bria - a 2 year old, 50 pound, Lab/Boxer mix gal who was found as a stray in Mississippi. Bria is right on the cusp of a medium to large sized dog.

Her foster shares "Bria is an energetic pup that just wants to make you happy! She was found abandoned on a dirt road, left to suffer and die. Luckily, animal control picked her up and took her to the 'makeshift' shelter. I was called to help her and the rest is history! It took months for her hair to grow back, many antibiotics for inflamed and irritated skin and lots of patience to help her learn to trust again. But now Bria is all about sloppy kisses and cuddles! When she gets excited, which is a lot, that tail goes into full wiggle mode! Bria has done well with all the dogs in rescue here and is fine with cats too. She is great on her leash, in a crate and is housebroken too. She can be a little mouthy when excited so though she loves kids we suggest slightly older kids. Bria loves the water and loves to go for walks! She needs a family/person that can match her energy! And someone willing to share their personal space...she is a pillow and blanket hog! But who wouldn't want this gorgeous girl as close to them as possible :)"

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
