Meet Crystal - a 10 month old, 41 pound, Catahoula mix gal (as of 1/30/25).

Foster mom update: As you can see she's doing amazing. She loves cuddling with my chocolate lab Teddy and they pretty much spend all day wrestling! She is so funny in the snow and will leap and bound around the backyard for HOURS! She has also gotten much better about her shoe chewing habit and has learned the commands sit, down, and drop it!

This gal just moved north and her new foster says "Crystal is doing amazing here! She is for sure a human dog, and craves attention. She gives lots and lots of kisses! But she loves other dogs too - she has been getting along great with my two resident dogs and will run and wrestle with them in my backyard. And her southern foster had said she loved all fifteen dogs they were fostering. This gal is completely housebroken and doesn't seem to be much of a barker either. Crystal is still learning to distinguish what in hers to gnaw on and what isn't. She can definitely shred paper and shoelaces if left alone, but we are working with her on her manners and we are sure she will learn quickly which things are appropriate to chew on. And she loves her crate so putting her there when we have to leave the house works fine."

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
