This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Frannie - a 1 year old, Carolina Dog / Pug mix, who weighs 27 pounds (as of 4/28/25). Frannie had a very sad start to life and was born to a homeless momma which had so many stray dogs running around. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever family!

Her foster shares: "Frannie is a perfect, little lady who wants to stick close to her people. She came from a horrible situation where she survived pretty much on her own. For being a 1 YO she has a very chill temperament. She has been with us 6 weeks and is learning what it means to be part of a family and to be loved. She is such a perfect size at 27 pounds. She is a very gentle girl and is learning that people are pretty decent. She does great with our 6 pups - which range in size from 28 - 70 pounds. She has so much love to give and can't wait to meet her forever family!"

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
