Meet Shadow Rascal
Shadow Rascal is currently in foster care – if you are interested in meeting Shadow Rascal please fill out this inquiry form and a member of our foster team will be in touch to coordinate a meet up!
Meet Shadow Rascal, our tennis-ball-loving goofball with the world’s best zoomies and a heart of gold. Shadow Rascal is a smart, playful pup who adores her dog friends and never turns down a game of fetch. She’s social, silly, and self-entertaining! She is happy to toss toys around on her own or snuggle up in her cozy dog bed after a good play session. She has had some time in a foster home, and she’s proven to be fully housebroken and walks beautifully on leash (unless, of course, she spots a squirrel… some temptations are too strong). She’s also shown she can settle comfortably at home, especially when things are quiet and predictable.
Shadow Rascal is still learning the art of polite greetings and can get a little too enthusiastic meeting new people. She means well, but her excitement sometimes comes with jumping up to say hello. She’s also sensitive to outdoor noises and will let you know if something sounds suspicious. But she’s food-motivated, eager to please, and responds well to gentle, positive reinforcement training. With structure and patience, she’s going to blossom.
Shadow Rascal would thrive in a home with another playful dog or regular doggy playdates to help get her energy out. She’d do best with adopters who understand that decompression takes time and who are willing to go at her pace when it comes to affection. If you’ve got a fenced yard, a stash of tennis balls, and a soft spot for quirky girls with big feelings and even bigger hearts, Shadow Rascal might just be your perfect match!
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Shadow Rascal. We have open adoption hours Mon- Wed 11:30am-5pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-6pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
