Meet Kia Momma - a 2 year old Husky mix, who weighs 40 pounds (as of 5/9/25).

Kia is an absolute gem of a dog!!

She came north in January pregnant, and we were hoping for her to have her babies in a loving foster home. She got on the transport in Tennessee pregnant - and when we went to get her out of the crate when she arrived in Massachusetts she had already had her babies during the night! Kia was a devoted and loving mama to her babies while in our care, and let them nurse well into teeth-territory (when other mamas often close down the milk bar).

But now Kia has been waiting way too long to find her people. This multi-colored eye beauty is a sweet and submissive Husky mix who is ready for her turn to shine!

If you are looking for an affectionate dog look no further than Kia. This girl just loves to be by your side...or on your feet, between your legs or in your lap. She isn't a kisser - but she shows you how much she loves you by leaning into you. And don't you dare stop petting her - she will look at you with those soulful eyes and you just can't help put give her more and more love!

Kia is the perfect blend of active dog and snuggly couch potato. She is very low maintenance in the home. She will keep herself entertained with toys and bones, or just lounge beside you. But then she also loves to go for long walks (she is good on a leash) or play fetch with a ball or frisbee. At times, Kia loves to show her puppy side too. She loves to be chased around a room and this often sparks in her a serious case of the zoomies! Her playfulness includes chasing her tail and chasing balls. Her zest for life is infectious!

She is fully house trained and is great at sit and takes treats gently. She definitely wants to please.

Kia will do well with other dogs given a slow and appropriate introduction - she is living with a foster sibling now. And she will be great living with older children (we suggest 7+), younger toddlers might be too much for her.

Squirrels and bunnies pique her interest, and she goes wild for chipmunks, so we'd recommend a pet rodent and cat free home. Since she is part-Husky, we'd also recommend always walking on a leash to keep her safe.

Welcoming Kia Momma into your home would be like winning the adoption lottery. Who is all in?

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
