Meet Howie Benji - a handsome, 8 year old, American Bulldog / Terrier mix, who weighs about 60 pounds (as of 5/9/25). Howie Benji was previously living in a loving home however his previous owners are no longer able to care for him due to their own health challenges. This sweet boy is looking for a new family to love and call his own!

His foster shares: "Howie Benji is a guy who loves his routine! He enjoys going for walks, playing fetch in the yard, and then curling up next to his human for a snooze... in that order! He can be a bit nervous around new people - but with proper introductions, he does really well and becomes comfortable quickly. Same thing goes for other pups.... He seems to do well with proper introductions but would definitely prefer to be a solo pup when he's at home (AKA extra cuddles with his humans). He is crate trained and housebroken and loves to go for rides in the car. Howie Benji is looking for a loving and patient home who can provide him with the structure and care that he needs to succeed. This guy is incredibly sweet, goofy and loyal and can't wait to show you all of his funny personalities. We know the perfect family is out there waiting for this sweet boy!"

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
