Meet Georgia
My adoption fee will be waived from June 23 – 29 as part of the AMERICA RUNS ON DOGGOS SUMMER RUFF-FRESHER EVENT !!!
Meet Georgia — a 44-pound bundle of love with a heart full of snuggles! This sweet girl came to us from a shelter in Ohio, where she also spent some time in a caring foster home. She’s a total people pup who lives for cuddle time and will happily curl up in your lap (even if she doesn’t quite fit!).
Georgia’s favorite things? Squeaky toys, long-lasting chews, and being close to her humans. She’s still learning how to relax on her own and adjust to the pace of home life, but with a little structure, patience, and positive reinforcement, she’s blossoming more every day. Chews like bully sticks are not only her go-to treat — they also help her unwind and feel calm.
She can be a bit sensitive to new sights and sounds, so Georgia would thrive in a quieter environment with a family that understands her needs and is committed to helping her feel safe. With love and support, she’s sure to become the loyal, affectionate companion of your dreams.
Georgia is heartworm positive – a treatable condition that isn’t contagious to humans, but can be fatal in dogs if left untreated – and has started receiving treatment at the shelter. We will work with adopters to help them continue the treatment, and your adoption counselor will talk more with you about heartworm disease.
Ready to welcome Georgia into your heart and home? She can’t wait to meet you!
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Georgia. We have open adoption hours Mon- Wed 11:30am-5pm, Thu-Sun 11:30am-6pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
